반초(初半)갤러리의 시작은 '다반향초_茶半香初' 즉, 차(茶)를 마신지 반나절(半)이 되었으나 그 향(香)은 처음(初)과 같다는 뜻으로 늘 한결같은 원칙과 태도를 중시해야 한다는 뜻에서 기인합니다.반초(半初)는 칠보공예 3대 장인정신을 바탕으로 명맥을 이어온 금하칠보(金河七寶)의 새로운 브랜드로 3대인 박수경 작가의 호(號)이며 갤러리에서는 전통과 현대의 조화를 이룬 작품성(예술)과 실용성(기술)이 결합된 차와 향도구,칠보공예 작품을 중심으로 DIY칠보체험 및 다양한 프로그램을 통해 현대인들에게 문화를 보급하며 소통하는 제3의 장소로 정진해 나갈 것입니다.
전통공예인 칠보공예를 알리고 일본다도의 완성자인 센 리큐(千利休)를 넘어서 한국의 칠보공예가 결합된 차도구 작품들이 세계에 널리 퍼져 나가기를 희망하며 다반향초의 마음으로 여러분과 함께 새로운 문화를 만들어 가겠습니다.
The beginning of Bancho Gallery (半初) originates from the phrase "Dabanhyangcho" (茶半香初), meaning"Though half a day has passed since the tea was first brewed its fragrance remains as fresh as the beginning." This embodies our commitment to constancy in principles and attitude, valuing integrity and sincerity above all.
Bancho (半初) is the new brand of Geumha Chilbo (金河七寶), a heritage enamel craft studio that has carried on the spirit of three generations of master artisans. It is also the art name (ho) of third-generation artist Sookyung Park.
At the gallery, we strive to become a “third place” where art and life meet—offering a space for cultural exchange through enamelware, tea and incense utensils that harmonize traditional and contemporary aesthetics, as well as hands-on DIY Chilbo (enamel) workshops and diverse cultural programs.
With deep respect for traditional Korean crafts, we aim to share the beauty of Chilbo enamelwork with the world—aspiring to go beyond even Sen no Rikyū, the great master of Japanese tea culture—by presenting a unique blend of Korean enamel artistry and tea culture. With the spirit of Dabanhyangcho, we invite you to join us in creating a new cultural movement together.

반초의 로고는 전통과 현대의 조화를 담고 있습니다. 찻잎을 모티브로 한 형태는 순수함과 균형, 그리고 고요한 강인함을 상징합니다. 잎사귀 안의 대칭적인 선은 칠보공예의 겹겹이 쌓인 정성과, 한결같은 태도를 뜻합니다. 이 모든 의미는 반초의 철학인 다반향초(茶半香初) ㅡ"시간이 흘러도, 본질은 그대로" 라는 마음에 뿌리를 두고 있습니다.
The BANCHO logo captures the harmony of tradition and modernity. Inspired by the form of a tea leaf, it reflects purity, balance, and quiet strength. The symmetrical lines within symbolize the layered craftsmanship of enamel art and our commitment to constancy ㅡ a spirit rooted in Dabanhyangcho (茶半香初): "Though time passes, the essence remains."
